695963 2008-08-08 23:39:00 Guys is it possible to just get a freeview decoder and hook it up to the skydish?? Also, would it be possible to slit the signal so you can enjoy SKY and FREEVIEW?? The wife wants to watch the olympics!?! mark1978 (13845)

695967 2008-08-09 08:52:00 Becuase the satellite Freeview signal isn't broadcast in HD. Sure it is easy to plug a Freeview or FTA satellite receiver into the Sky dish via a splitter or loopthrough cable. Then Feed it into your tv set on AV2 with Sky on AV1 then you flick between them when required.

Cost as little as $100 via Trademe.

But if you want the FULL Freeview experience and have a HD capable Tv and access to the Terrestrial Freeview signal then go for the HD version. You just need the signal plus a UHF antenna and a Freeview HD box for about $350
