From my dark ages manual photograpy years, I seem to remember the excersise where we had to photograph a white sheet and a black sheet. On autoexposure from a close up reading, we got 2 negatives that would print as grey. Incorrect! Taking a reading from a 18% grey card, would give 2 perfect negatives - printing as a pure black and pure white. (assuming correct development rules were followed) Once again, I ask if we are to dependant on electronics taking over our thinking for us? Ken :thumbs: |
