| 697195 | 2008-08-14 07:01:00 | Hi Just bought a 40in Sony Bravia LCD TV with built in Freeview tuner. Amazing clarity! Now the wife is in the kitchen preparing dinner and watching the 14in CRT keeps saying "what channel are you watching". Watching the same channel the analgue signal is 3 secs. ahead of the digital channel. Would it not be possible to be at the same time? |

| 697196 | 2008-08-14 07:12:00 | The longer the aerial cable to your CRT, the longer the signal will take to get there. If you need to delay it by 3 seconds, you need to add 17.48m of aerial cable. It should be fairly easy to do yourself. HTH |

Nope, thats one annoying problem with Freeview is the delay between analogue & digital TV :( One way to fix this is to get another small TV that can get Freeview :D |

| 697199 | 2008-08-14 07:28:00 | a lot of homes have 10+ metres between sets and i've never seen any lag between sets yet. say it travels half speed of light (its at speed of light in vaccum, i think 1/2 - 3/4 speed in solids) say 150,000,000 m/s.... it would take 450,000,000 m for 3 seconds. |

| 697200 | 2008-08-14 07:32:00 | It is normal for there to be a delay with the signal from the satellite. You could send the freeview signal to other TVs, it is not too difficult. I have several TVs all getting the sky channel, only thing is they can only view the channel that is selected on the decoder but it gets around the delay problem. |

Oops, yeah, looks like I thought a 9 was a 4. I meant 450,000km. Easy. |

| 697203 | 2008-08-14 07:38:00 | We get that same lag here too in the US . The new digital broadcasts are about 3 seconds slower in comparison to the analog signal . . I know as I have both an analog TV w/VCR and a digital tuner in my PC to the CRT and the voice-sync drives me crazy . It's just the way it is . . . unless the speed-o-light is different under the Equator, in Upsidedown Land . I know it affects the ability to keep time there! Hey! That's why the site clock is always wrong . The site itself is analog and the clock is digital! Mystery solved! |
