696921 2008-08-13 10:22:00 I am not sure about that link, as it seems a very controversial / complicated article.

But what does interest me is that when I was in my teens (the 1960's) I used to read quite a few books on the North West Passage. The illusive passage long the top of Canada that would allow ships to sail from the Atlantic to the Pacific, saving much travel time.

Over a period of 300 hundred years lots of ships and hundred of sailors were lost trying to find a way through the ice. It was only done early in the 20th century. After that it was only done by steel ships with ice breaker bows.

Now they are saying that ordinary ship s will be able to sail through as if on an ocean cruise !

696922 2008-08-13 10:36:00 I guess its a case of do you believe what you read.

Then again look at all the people believe some cosmic jewish zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically
tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil
force from your soul that is present in Humanity because a rib-woman
was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.
