697442 2008-08-18 23:29:00 Godfather is redefining the term "boy-racer" :D

Yeah, now it's man-racer, for the fact that most boyracers have the maturity and risk-assesment of a 6 year old. "Oooh shiny, I'll buy that one! Oooh fast, let's go faster! Oooh crash, oh well, I didn't kill anyone I know".

697443 2008-08-18 23:39:00 Got a Mercedes Benz SLK230 K (Supercharged). Not been over 210 km/h yet, it's limited to 235.

0-"sorry officer" in 6.6 sec is a nice bit of adrenalin though.

I could live with that. :D

697444 2008-08-19 07:34:00 Still here, in some sort of temp remission but there is no cure. Chemo damn near killed me...

And Cic, have got rid of the hairdressers car (MX5), now got a Mercedes Benz SLK230 K (Supercharged). Not been over 210 km/h yet, it's limited to 235.

0-"sorry officer" in 6.6 sec is a nice bit of adrenalin though.

Your post is my nicest news for a long time, godfather.
A really bright spark ...
So why does it cheer me up?

I fell on concrete & broke my femur in Wellington en route home to Dunedin after many weeks away in the North Island..
And while in Wellington Hospital, Dunedin City Council informed me that a 19th century underground watercourse (stone culvert 3 metres down - not on the title) which I didn't know existed, had collapsed.
So I've now returned home to an actual mess, plus a legal one where everyone denies responsibility.
It will take time...

But hearing that you are still with us - in spite of that ruddy-awful chemo - puts stuff in perspective.
Things don't count; people do.

I was concerned about your absence, as I'm sure many others were.
Long life to the remission.

Don't follow - or am I being dense?

697447 2008-08-21 08:53:00 So, Laura,
Not only legless in Wellington, but a fallen woman as well. And I suppose you are still plastered?

When kicking up your heels, prudence dictates one leg at a time.

Get well quick before summer arrives.

697448 2008-08-22 02:57:00 Not plastered, R2 -

(That's much too 20th century for the with-it fallen woman)
A steel plate, some screws, a bolt & some staples are the recommended upgrade parts for today's computerised old girl...

The staples have now been uninstalled.

The other new parts had an interesting effect on an airport metal scanner, but sadly haven't improved my computer'a performance.
Must be the wrong O/S...

697449 2008-08-22 03:24:00 Laura - I suspect a Windows Update has a conflict with some pre-installed meatware. System Restore can sometimes help! :D johcar (6283)
697450 2008-08-22 03:26:00 meatware.

Mmm, meatware... :drool
