Nothing new there then I lived there for 30 years and often would get no summer. To be honest though it has got much worse than when I was a kid growing up over there. |

When I was there 20 years ago, there was a common joke: "Damn I slept in yesterday and missed the summer". So for the UK not to have a summer is not uncommon. | 697194 | 2008-08-17 07:12:00 | Great Britain/East Coast America/North-Western Europe is dominated by the vagaries of the Gulf Stream which until recently were not so unpredictable. There is much more surface area of land in the Northern hemisphere, the sea is not the dominant moderating factor that it is in NZ for many countries and regions in the North. |
