821966 2009-10-19 06:45:00 I have just bought a new LG W2442PA 24" monitor.
I have connected it to my ATI Radeon 4850 with driver version 8.632.1.2000.
I have applied the maximum 1920 x 1080 resolution but the screen has not stretched to the full width and height.

I went into the screen menu and could not find a 'stretch' button. I could only find vertical and horizontal adjustments which are faded-down and I can't get into.

Can my graphics card actually support such a stretch?

821969 2009-10-19 08:47:00 Check the refresh rate. These monitors like 60hz I think, I've seen a 22" 1080p LG, that had the same problem as yours on 50hz, but was all g at 60hz. wratterus (105)
821970 2009-10-19 08:50:00 OK. Problem solved...kind of.

I had the monitor hooked-up using the HDMI cord. I disconnected the HDMI cord and used the DVI. I now have a full screen!

What I'd like to know is WHY the HDMI input reduces the screen?

Again - check the refresh rate. The monitor here had the same thing with the HDMI and an ATI card.
