700887 2008-08-27 06:57:00 How bright (in general terms) is this LED?

Output: 14,000mcd (min), 16,000mcd (typical)

I want to wire up a few LED's to the shelf that sits over my keyboard so that I don' thave to have the light on to see what I'm typing. This too bright?

It just has to be bright enough to see the keys.

If you have a dark room the lighting will appear quite bright,in a well-lit room, who needs LED's?

I got one for $15 from the Warehouse - works great.
