Im purchasing a new gamer in December... i was just wondering if some peoples could read over my specs (in my sig) and help tell me if there is anything i dont need, or should get... The whole quotation reads: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz 6M 1333MHz 45nm ( the latest technology ) SuperTalent DDR2 800 4GB OVERCLOCK KIT w/heatsink 5-5-5-15 ( two of these for 8GB Ram) GIGABYTE EP45-DS3 LGA775 FSB 1600 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 1200 ASUS GTX 260 Extreme 896MB 2 (DVI-I9) 576 MHz/1242 MHz Seagate Barracuda 11 3.5 500GB ASUS DRW-2014S1T SATA Retail Black with Nero 8 Corsair 650W TX Series PSU 120mm doubleball bearing fan Cooler Master Centurion 590 BLACK Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit This comes to around Two Grand ($2000) total If you want to comment, or say anything i should add or remove, hopefully remobe seeing i really want to purchase a better screen :) Thanks so much... |

The stuff you have listed will not be high spec in December, as soon as you buy the latest hardware, it is inferior... That is the way it goes. But otherwise, you have got everything you will need there. |

| 699944 | 2008-08-25 05:00:00 | Everything seems pretty decent. Except 8GB RAM. Waste of money when your building the machine for games. Unless you are planning to be running some grand-scale simulation tests, 8GB is just plain overkill. 4GB is plenty. Oh, and what Reality said. Looking at prices and components now is pretty much useless. New gear will be out and prices will shift rather dramatically before you come around to purchasing. |
