| 823101 | 2009-10-22 11:02:00 | Hello People I am just wondering if i can turn a router into a hub. i have a 4 port router (dse xh1169) model. It only connects at 3mb a second and i have 2 computers i have to link up. I also have a (thomson ST536 v6) model modem/router, which connects at 8mb per second and i get faster downloads with it. I am wanting to make the thomson modem the main one and just use the xh1169 router as a hub due to me not having a hub. can someone please help me because i have to idea how to go about it i think turning dhcp off and stuff but il get some expert advice before i touch anything thanx someone help asap :D:D:D i am in New Zealand and the dse means dick smith electronics |

| 823102 | 2009-10-22 17:10:00 | Hi chongsta, Welcome to PressF1. The great part about this site being local is that most of us are also residing within NZ :) Yes, basically you need to login to the Web Interface of the XH1169 and disable DHCP. Then, just plug in a cable from the LAN port in the XH1169 into another LAN port in the Thomson router. Here's the Manual for your DSE router which will tell you how to get in to the Web Interface: www.dse.co.nz Cheers Chill. |
