822465 2009-10-20 20:45:00 Should speech recognition in Windows 7 make Firefox run slowly? The CPU widget showed 100% usage at one stage, I don't often see that. sammo450 (13626)
822466 2009-10-20 21:26:00 How do you know thats causing it? Speedy Gonzales (78)

Are you sure it is Firefox using that CPU? Could be a buggy addon, or a corrupt profile. Why do you suspect that it is speech recognition causing firefox to use lots of CPU?

822468 2009-10-21 00:47:00 Firefox 3.5.3 and possibly 3.5.2 will occassionally run with 100% cpu usage until being shut down and restarted, I have experienced this now and again. zqwerty (97)
822469 2009-10-21 03:07:00 When I say 'Stop listening' FF speeds up. Yeah I've got 3.5, maybe that's it. sammo450 (13626)
822470 2009-10-21 03:43:00 Hi,
I have both w 7 and XP Pro
FF runs faster than Internet Explorer in XP-- by quite a margin
BUT
in Windows 7 RC it is exactly the oposite- FF takes literally minutes to fire up and I /E is as fast as anything - say 30 seconds

It is not your voice program-in XP I am using Dragon Natuarlly speaking v 9, and it does not slow XP down
In W 7 it has it's own speech recognition engine and as far as I can see is normal speed.

Once again I am informed that Microsoft have favoured W 7 and Internet Explorer over FF
