699357 2008-08-24 00:47:00 how do you fiquere that ?
from what was show on tv i could have driven a truck between the 2 vechiles.

you have to rmember the car wasn't sideswiped and the camera van was not hit which is what you would expect if he tried to go between and there wasn't enough room. this looks to be a simple nose to tail by a bad driver.

not sure what your on about about the cop. whats parking lines got to do with a police check ??
The fact remains that the speed van should not have been parked there. They should be thinking of safety when they do this.
If you can not understand why a cop shouldn't be stopping people where it is not safe to do so I feel sorry for you. They were No parking lines. In other words people weren't allowed to park there and was done for safety reasons. On the same day I told another cop about it and the guy was in for a real ragging. The stupid thing is there were thousands of places in town he could have done the same thing with no issues.

why shouldn't the speed camera van park there? from the footage the van was only on the edge of lay-by and there was enough room for a truck to pass another vehicle. its public land and off the road.
you have to remember it wasn't the camera van that was hit. it had nothing to do with the accident.

just because there are "no parking" lines doesn't automatically mean its unsafe for a check point. they often do that around here with no complaints or any accidents. you may have to elaborate a bit on how having a check point there is dangerous. maybe it is a dangerous place, but "no parking" lines doesn't automatic make it so.
however i do wholeheartedly agree that if there is better places those should be used. however was there any other factors involved? i've had cops breath test drivers in a weird location before simply because there was an accident there before and he was still on scene.

Sorry I can't give up. If the guy had over a thousand other places he could have done the same thing with no issues he is a complete FW. I considered it enough of a risk that I pulled up in a business car park to avoid things and it was just after that he got wise. Why would another cop rag him if he did not agree with the way I viewed the situation.
You are being stubborn for no reason but to be stubborn.

Was the police van traveling too fast? did the police van follow too close? Did the police van fail to stop?

I can't see how a parked vehicle can have any responsible for poor skills of another driver.

I don't doubt the guy's poor driving but considering the whole idea of speed cameras ( and not revenue gatherers) is to improve the safety on the roads was it really bright for the speed camera van to be parked in a space that was created to create safety. I am sorry but if you can't appreciate that I think you have a major common sense problem.

699363 2008-08-24 22:00:00 from what was shown the van wasn't parked in the space, it was on the edge of it. if anything (i'll have to look at the footage again) they where complaining that it was a distraction. comon if they can't handle a vechile as a distraction they shouldn't be allowed on the road. tweak'e (69)
