698964 2008-08-21 01:26:00 Running a MacBook Pro as my work machine.

Dual 2.5Ghz
250GB HDD
2GB DDR2-800
17" TFT.

I've always been a hater of Macs (and still am, will never touch a desktop machine). But this MacBook is so attractive and so vibrant that they have won me over somewhat.

Still, i love going home to my gaming machine that runs Vista 64Bit.

I would of never of bought this MacBook with my own money, as i would never buy any Mac product with my own money.

698965 2008-08-21 01:27:00 I've had 2 Macs, and they are wonderful appliances. But inflexible, software costs a fortune, freeware virtually nonexistent and as for games, forget it. annie (6010)
698966 2008-08-21 02:21:00 That would be because the Magazine is called PC World.
Not Mac World. I like it. :)

PC Means "Personal Computer"

A Mac in those terms is also a Personal Computer

698970 2008-08-21 03:03:00 I'd like to play around with a Mac, (There's a few Mac users who would like to try one of my D2 mods).

What's put me off is the price, and lack of support for the other games I like to play.

LOL coming from someone with "Vista" in the nick.
Try one for a few months you might change your mind.

Or run both on an Intel PC

698972 2008-08-21 03:06:00 Yep - I use Vista. So what? I'm NOT using a Mac - too expensive. (The PC below cost me $550. (Then again, it was Japanese parts.)) pcuser42 (130)

ive been "trying them" for the last year and a half

and doing so has only driven home the fact that the operating system is infuriating no matter how much i try and "live with it" and the "oh its expensive so it must be GREAT and my friend has one so i have to get a better one to show him up" attitude displayed from the ads and the users do nothing but push me away

sure i could run XP on the mac pro i mentioned but im still paying a $7,000 Premium for some brushed aluminium and a "BONG" when i turn it on :waughh:
