699245	2008-08-21 22:41:00	I fixed a friends husbands parents PC the other week. Well I formatted and did a complete new install of Windows and everything. They got it back and then rang a few days later to say they were having trouble getting their emails. They are on dialup. I said either go into webmail and delete whats blocking it (emails with attachments) or ring the helpdesk and ask them too. He said he'd ring back if they still had problems. Then last night I was at the friends - no customers hadn't rang me back at this point - when her husband came in and immediately started screaming and swearing at me and telling me that if I was going to give them an invoice I should fix the computer properly in the first place and there is loads of errors all over it. I told him what they had rung me about in the first place and the fact that they hadn't rung me since but no, he continued screaming and swearing and nutting off about how its full of errors when they use the net, blah blah. I left and he followed me out and told me to F*** off. I go over to their place and see whats the problem. Nothing to do with the net - they had sorted the emails out ok but it was randomly coming up with a pop-up. This one: www.emsisoft.com I had scheduled anti-spyware for each Monday morning, so it would have got it anyway. I removed it then for them. They said their son had clicked on it.	pctek (84)

699249	2008-08-21 23:29:00	Some people indeed. :groan: I had a very similar thing happen the other day. Chap came in with a Vista HB machine, he said it was going slow and wouldn't connect to his wireless. It only had 512MB RAM, so I discussed this with him, explained that vista needs at least a gig to run OK, he was fine with that, so we agreed on adding a gig, lappy ran great after that. Also installed Vista SP1. It wouldn't connect to our wireless either, after updating the driver it was sweet as. He picked it up, took it home and tried 'connecting' to his wireless. He called up about a half hour later, swearing his face off, I paid you $120 fking dollars to fix my laptop, it still doesn't fking work...on and on and on. When I finally managed to get a word in, I said I'm sorry it isn't working, it was working fine in the office as you saw, but I'm more than happy to help you resolve this issue over the phone.. He cut me off and began swearing again, and he said I'm fking coming down there, you can take this fking laptop that you've fked back and fix it properly. So.. OK. :lol: 10 mins later, he comes in, still swearing, literally throws the laptop down in front of me and says fking fix it. So I turned it on, connected fine to our wireless, so I showed him how to connect to a network. Turned out he simply turned it on and expected it to connect by itself, password and everything. So he took it home, never heard from him again. No thanks or apology. Dork.	wratterus (105)

PCTek, if I was you, I would make a point of explaining to your friend and that he had caused the issue with his parents PC....And that as a friend you expect her to ensure her husband comes to apologise to you, as I certainly would stand for that...
