698954 2008-08-20 21:57:00 Hi guys. Just noticed how many of your posts concern how to fix issues on PCs. I reckon, get a Mac. Switched a while back and will never look back.:punk spaceboy (14105)

698956 2008-08-20 22:05:00 Yes, I just got a macbook from TradeMe. I still have a PC Desktop running Win XP Home and it has other advantages so won't be replacing that. Sure it gets problems occasionally but I find I can deal with most of them ok, having learned a lot from PC World.

I do love my mac and here is my blog to prove it. www.dotswotnots.blogspot.com

698957 2008-08-20 22:21:00 Currently I have my windows themed to look like a Mac, but my next upgrade will be to a Mac. I love them. And you can still run windows on them as well (either natively or emulated , so it's a win-win situation.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Mac last time I got a new computer.

Having said that, I have heard about people who have had nothing but trouble with their Macs, including things like crashing straight out of the box, so they are by no means perfect, but I think the Mac operating system is much better developed than Windows, which seems to just keep bolting extras on to an already clambering monster.

That would be because the Magazine is called PC World.
Not Mac World.

698959 2008-08-20 22:33:00 spaceboy - there are quite a lot of Mac users here, glad you are enjoying your Mac.

lakewoodlady - well done. nice blog by the way
As you say this is the secret of the Mac reliability.

"Software and hardware that is happily married work as a team to produce ease of functionality and user friendliness"

KiwiTek - have had several Macs over a period of 13 years and have never had a problem but I guess there is always the exception with anything.

698960 2008-08-20 23:10:00 we had a new mac pro show up a month ago

2x Quad core 2.8GHZ Xeon CPU's

8gb ram

4tb HDD space

and a 8800GT video card

all for the princley sum of $14,995 ($15K in real world terms)

a quick geeze on ascent (which isint the cheapest computer parts store there is) and i could build the same spec PC for $7900 - so i find it hard that it cost roughly $7100 to build and set up

sure ill get a mac if you say so - but you can foot the bill eh? :annoyed:
