1445456 2018-01-27 23:13:00 We've had this before.

Of course it won't take off. It needs air movement over the wings which means that the aircraft has to be moving.

Please tell me you're trolling, this went on forever last time and it was clearly established that a plane is not driven by it's wheels and will therefore take off as usual. If you have a problem with that imagine the plane is levitating, the wheels only serve to hold it up off the ground.

But I apologize for biting, just read the whole original thread all the way through :p

1445460 2018-01-29 20:53:00 Aircraft are propelled by props and jets, not wheels. What the wheels are doing wont affect it (much)
Mythbusters actually tested this .
MY RC Planes take off right out of my hand and dont even have wheels

Now lets get onto some real discussion about the earth being flat

1445461 2018-01-29 21:19:00 I think it will fly for about a metre until the treadmill stanchions rip off its wings. :D B.M. (505)

The earth is not flat, let's get that out of the way. The earth is bent and wrinkled, in places the houses may be flat(ish). Brownlee is at the core of a lot of this nonsense.

1445463 2018-01-30 07:57:00 I have to believe that a large % of flat earth proponents are taking the piss for the fun of it. Most conspiracy theories have at least a thread of plausibility somewhere that you can recognise and understand why people might believe it.
To me it's similar to someone taking the dark sucker theory as real, except that one has a lot better scientific explanations behind it despite being a joke (look it up if you've never heard of it, might get a laugh).

I've seen several people do the "level on a plane" test now, and listened to their earnest explanations on how a plane would have to keep dipping it's nose to follow the curve of the earth. Even having watched them and seen how serious they appear to be I can only conclude they are great actors, nobody that stupid could manage to post a youtube video could they? or be allowed on a plane... maybe they have friends that do it for them while secretly pissing themselves inside.
