Usually I enjoy a good red but I tend to put the 'bigger reds' aside during hot weather if I just need a quaffer. A lot of the purpose made chilled Rosés are enjoyable. Yes, prefect..the sparkling is good, too. Pssst...sometimes I even lightly chill a red when the weather is hot and block my ears to murmurs of "sacrilege". I am offside with some because I prefer an unoaked Chardonnay to one where all I seem to taste is oak. Riesling varies a lot so I tread carefully there. When we were in Germany we were given a bottle of Riesling and looked forward to tasting it. It would probably be great with food but on it's own it seemed to me like liquid stainless steel. Drink what you like but drink sensibly and always in moderation. |
