2018-01-05 21:07:00 | Good Morning All, Please help, have bullet pointed main issues to avoid a wordy post :) Purchased Orbi Netgear RBK50 to help with wifi/network set up at home Set up to existing modem/router Belkin F6D4630-4 v1 Was working great for a few days. Storm hit yesterday, signal abit intermittent. I changed Belkin to 'modem-only' (as recommended with Orbi set up) Now have no internet connection at all & can't get back in to Belkin Router to change anything Belkin is showing as having no IP address - have tried all the standard IP addresses to try to gain access to reverse what I did [modem-only], with no luck. Globe/internet connection image flashing orange on Belkin. Other key points: We live rurally with no cellphone coverage - so no mobile data hotspotting available at my house Until problem resolved, internet access only available by mobile hotspot on roadside where coverage is - so jealous of you urban/city folk with your ultrafast broadband :nerd: Really appreciate some advice, desperate to get WiFi reconnected to my house for work. Thank you in advance.:badpc:

The default when its working is often 192.168.2.1 Try resetting the router back to defaults, and see if you can reset it back up again. The reset button is not where it normally would be, its on the side panel near the front - this site has the manual as well as the rest location. setuprouter.com The site is a tad slow, so heres the instructions from the site. To reset this router locate the tiny reset button found on the side panel of the device. We have circled it in red in the image below 8614 Take the end of an unwound paperclip or pin to press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you hold it for less time than that you will probably only reboot the router instead of resetting it. Be careful and remember this erases everything you have done to personalize this router. We recommend making a reset your last choice in troubleshooting the device. |

2018-01-05 21:33:00 | If you have reset, then plug a computer directly into one of the 4 white/grey Ethernet ports via a Ethernet cable. Open a command prompt ( you haven't said what OS) so it will be slightly different for different OS's. For W10, in the search type in CMD, OR for all windows, press the Windows key + R Type in cmd.exe select it ( if searching) type in ipconfig Press enter--- It should give you a ip address as well as the gateway address. If it comes back with 169.254.x.x Then the router is not issuing an address, OR the computer is set to static or a faulty cable. If the Computer is not set to static, then reset the router again and retry. If its still not working then the Router could have failed (not uncommon with Belkins) If you have more than one computer try them as well, just to eliminate the actual computers.

2018-01-05 22:13:00 | Yes, tried seaching for IP details via cmd, ipconfig etc. IP/gateway info only showing for the Orbi, just 0.0.0.0 showing for Belkin. Going to try plugging in another modem shortly. Thanks again. | Willow1 (17593) | |
2018-01-05 23:10:00 | You'll need to bypass COMPLETEY and disconnect the Orbi Netgear RBK50 to access the Belkin. Otherwise the netgear will try to take over. Assuming you can get into the Belkin, THEN reconnect everything and start the setting up again as it previously was.
