1443923 2017-12-21 21:59:00 Merry Xmas, festivous , solstice

Ive a old Tablet (Android old = 2+ years)
Samsung Tab2 , 7" . Android v 4ish

The old Youtube app will no longer connect, YT obviously now blocking the old YT app. Same with my Old(ish) android ph with the old YT app .
My New(ish) phones with newer YT app: no issues .
The issue is, the new YouTube app, is too much of a resource hog to be usuable on the Samsung Tablet . It works but is so slooooow to navigate around the app. Unusable
Its not streaming speed thats the issue, its the YT apps that are the issue.

Any suggestions ? Any other YT viewing apps I could try
Youtube is all I use the Tablet for.
At the moment Im having to view YT via a browser in the tablet, an awefull experience but somewhat usuable .
Otherwise its scrap an otherwise perfectly working tablet , Id rather not as it wasnt cheap.

Im guessing YT blocks the old YT app as they couldnt deliver all their adverts into it :-)

1443924 2017-12-22 02:23:00 I bit the bullet & replaced it
Bought a Lenovo Tab4 8" , $239 from JB Hfi . For that price no point mucking about with the old one .

Should be about a year before its completely abandoned by the manufacturer. Many Androids are quickly abandoned so now often updates or patches
ever available, so given that I cant see the point of buying an expensive Tablet if you wont get patches & updates for trhem

The next question is, what can I do with my old, now obsolete Tablet ?
:)

Even though it kept getting updates longer than yours would have 1gb of RAM is not enough for modern android versions and runs poorly in my experience. Googling the Tab 2 7" suggests it's 5 years old since release, positively ancient in tablet terms. dugimodo (138)
