2018-02-12 03:57:00 | I was going to stay out of all this crap, but with all the talk of science and pseudo-science, the debates would carry much more weight if the antagonists declared their formal qualifications. This would enable the rest of us morons to assess who may be right or wrong, and where they are coming from. :nerd: Ok don't be shy, let's hear who is qualified to talk knowledgeably :banana | Terry Porritt (14) | |

2018-02-12 08:44:00 | You're right, it was about how hot. Its very warm and humid down here as well. The rain wasn't really that much, BUT the weeds are growing well. Bit of heat bit of water and Whoooooose away they go. Dog standing out side in the rain cooling off - he loved it :) ANYHOWS Back to the Tennis match ( post #43) -- Appears its doubles now :D Anyone keeping the score :p I didn't keep the score but I do sometimes tune in for the next episode.

The perpetrators of Global Warming fudged their own findings to make them fit the case and got caught. They wouldnt release their findings for the scrutiny of other Scientists and did the real Scientists a great disservice. For those with open enough minds, evidence of all this can be found in the Links Ive already provided. However, for those who wish to belong to the Green Religion thats fine, you can put as much money as you like in the Plate when they bring it around, but I dont wish to fund any of the nonsense. :) |

2018-02-12 20:18:00 | Ok , this is going to be fun. I'll try to be as objective as I can as a Physicist, but no doubt owing to the nature of blogs a little bias or prejudice may creep in. First of all Karamea Dave, well he didn't get embroiled, and often went to :sleep but Environmental Management sounds useful, a good response :) NickG: He is young and sounds keen, probably sees things as black or white as we all do at that age, and can't stand fools lightly. He is in academia, an undergraduate in his final year so mixing with other like minded souls and will be getting cross fertilisation. Putting the world to rights everyday in the cafeteria with his mates:) I don't know how long the degree course lasts, presumably 3 or 4 years full time ? The thing that bothers me is the Economics, it is not really subject to the scientific method, en.wikipedia.org in the same way as a physical science is. Economists seem to get things wrong usually more times than the purely random choice method (my personal observation, not based on expert knowledge) though there are very clever mathematical models, and a lot of work has gone into modern economic theory. I plead guilty to showing my ignorance of the subject  I am reminded of a chapter from that old (1951) classic Pelican book Facts From Figures by M J Moroney entitled 'Time series and Fortune Telling' :clap Now BM: His type of answer was not unexpected. Taken at face value, it means NO, he has no formal scientific qualifications or education and does not practice qualified science on a daily basis. That in itself is not necessarily a condemnation, there are many self taught individuals I've come across in my life time who I have respected for their knowledge. However I'm reminded of the great Moon/Earthquake debate. some time back that was prompted by Ken Ring and maybe also Colic Craig's circulating planets. Not revisiting it but things like BMs' obsession with the Bay of Fundy and the influence of planets such as Venus, should be enough to destroy his credibility, though as per usual he didn't admit to being wrong despite the calculations demonstrating the micro forces. Conclusions: NickG is credible, BM has no credibility. So will all this crap end? Somehow I don't think so.

2018-02-12 21:12:00 | Im afraid Terry once again your Green Bias shows through and you are trying to derail the thrust of the argument. I am not even considering the science of the matter as such, but pointing out that the very foundation of that Science was founded on an Orchestrated Litany of Lies, to borrow a phrase from Justice Mahon. As for the Moon/Earthquake debate of years ago, that is also just a Red Herring to try and divert the focus from the issue of BS Science. However, Im happy to revisit it in another thread should you care to start one. :)

2018-02-12 21:38:00 | Well put Terry, Now, to your occupation is a thing I have had a problem with for many years. Who, pray tell me, does not have a problem with pronouncing the word physicist after a few drinks :) Seriously now, my thoughts on life, the Universe and everything (42) is that the world is in a downward spiral which will eventuate in its demise. There it will stay, slowly repairing the damage that man has done until it is ready. Then, some creature crawls out from the ocean and starts it all over again. Man created all these problems which combined with Natures cycles will cause this. The overpopulation of our planet is very destructive but we are probably to late to stop this. I have heard that scientists predict that the planet has peak population of some 12 Billion people and will settle at that and all will stabilise. Time will tell. It won't take us long to reach 12B. Those are just my thoughts, no higher education than School Certificate but have been an interested observer, listener and reader over the years. Ken
