(The second of 7 units in the complex owned by the same Asian investor What I have found is the smell of the smoke has permeated my unit and I'm now forced to close all the windows on that side of the unit, but the stink still gets in especially when there is little or no wind. Well, if the landlord doesn't care, I guess there isn't much ylu can do. All I can sugeest, assuming the family aren't going to listen to your suggestions they move their smoking area, is this stuff: Dettol Glen 20 Disinfectant Spray Never mind the disinfectant...it's basically alcohol anyway...but it is excellent for odour control. Really excellent. |

But back on topic ... a few months ago I posted about the Syrian refugee family who moved into the stand alone unit next door. (The second of 7 units in the complex owned by the same Asian investor out to gouge anyone he can for exorbitant rents - in this case the taxpayer - because you and I are paying for them as part of the aid program.) In true Middle East style, the mother does all the work - housekeeping and gardening - resting by sitting on the ground whilst her chain smoking misogynist husband sits on his chair, supervises, and leers at one of the elderly single female owners making life more than a little uncomfortable for her. All the while, chain smoking, as does the son and mother also. What I have found is the smell of the smoke has permeated my unit and I'm now forced to close all the windows on that side of the unit, but the stink still gets in especially when there is little or no wind. :mad: Can you snipe them with a high power water gun? The Super Soaker from the warehouse works ok. My wife uses one against errant chickens who head for the vege garden. |

Giving up smoking is only possible if you really WANT to, NOT because its bad for you, or because others say you should. First you decide to give up, then you set your mind to continue with not smoking, this is the case with any addiction, including the ladies! Its all mind control. It took about two years before I could refuse the offer of a cigarette without thinking. Stop completely, you can not cut down. The price alone is enough reason these days. I found it helped if I had an unopened packet available because the mind can think "I want to smoke but I can't because I haven't any", instead of "I can smoke if I want to, but I don't" Why don't smokers grow their own Tobacco? |

Growing tobacco is something I know well my family had been growing it in Nelson since just after WW1. It is easy to grow but curing and getting it to a smokeable state is a buggerance. Its easy to just go the Mobil and buy it, the blacks at work tell me if its a choice packet of smokes or a school trip for their offspring the fags win every time. |

Thanks, just saw your reply. I'll get some when I'm next at the supermarket. Re the smoking area, they smoke in the morning to catch the sun, then change location to catch the afternoon rays. Whichever, I get the lot. |

My last job, the place was a tip, I cleared the drain from out front of business and put a tin round the carpark side, but no-one paid attention until I mentioned it to the bosses. No excuse for being a pig just cause you smoke. |
