I've spent a fair bit of time on trying to create my own version of the KFC coating and pressure cooking process, with little success. So if these tegel things are good it'll be a double thanks to Piroska.

I also notice that Tegel's website has basic and solid storage and re-heating advice.

1)Double batter them. That's how they get it so thick. The recipe is easy, loads on the net.
2)Deep fry it. They do...

Personally I hate that, I bake mine. I can make them like the Tegel ones, sometimes though, I get lazy and buy them. They are a bit thick, husband likes mine better as I do it a bit thinner.....

1444892 2018-02-04 13:58:00 Well I tried the Tegel southern fried chicken nibbles last night. They were absolutely no comparison to KFC, and though the texture and flavour was okay, that's about all that could be said, in my opinion. Even fresh nibbles coated in the old fashioned 'coat 'n cook' are nicer. Glad they were on a good special offer at Countdown. Greg (193)
1444893 2018-02-05 03:43:00 Coat n Cook? never heard of it.....Maybe I should investigate....but then again, I bet it's just a mix.

OK, buy that, and DIY.

1 Spices - Mix With 2 Cups White Flour
1) 2/3 Ts Salt
2) 1/2 Ts Thyme
3) 1/2 Ts Basil
4) 1/3 Ts Oregano
5) 1 Ts Celery Salt
6) 1 Ts Black Pepper
7) 1 Ts Dried Mustard
8) 4 Ts Paprika
9) 2 Ts Garlic Salt
10) 1 Ts Ground Ginger
11) 3 Ts White Pepper

Have to say, we aren't that keen on the thick batter on KFC, the spices yes.
So I generally DIY and make the stuff thinner and crank up the herbs and spices more than this recipe says.

Or cheat and use the TEgels, but mine is the preferred one in this house.....

So amend it until it's how you prefer....

I also don't fry, and they do, but that's preference too.
You'll get a greasier result if you do fry.

1444894 2018-02-05 03:56:00 When I was in Suai East Timor living in a tent on rat packs for 6 months a Caribou did a run from Darwin with Maccas and we re heated them in a microwave and they were delicmo. Not a huge fan of Maccas though would rather have BK or Wendys, Carl Junior Texas Chicken. prefect (6291)
1444895 2018-02-05 04:30:00 You should NEVER freeze cooked chicken and then reheat it again.......................
