| 1444543 | 2018-01-09 06:39:00 | And another aspect explained to me by a Policeman a few years ago: The Public just wouldnt believe the number of deaths that are actually suicide originated. The driver drinks a bottle of whisky, or whatever, P, and drives into a Bridge Abutment, or a Train, Truck, or other motor vehicle. The outcome gets recorded as a Road Accident, an Alcohol Related Road Accident, or Drug Related Road Accident and thats it. Frankly, I drove quite a few miles over Christmas and only me and my laundryman know how many frights I got and I never saw One Cop! All very well putting out Videos, but I suggest they get their sorry arses out of the office and on the road. If I was a Cop in a Mufti Car I could have written 100 tickets between Auckland and Mount Maunganui in one day. |

| 1444544 | 2018-01-12 22:31:00 | My German stepfather got speed ticketed several times in the mid 70's. Fresh from his country and use to driving (aka speeding) in excess of 150 K in BMW's on their infamous Autobahn....he moaned about our windy, or bendy, and hilly roads, without lengthy straights. Though the Matamata straits was one he liked, if in his words "too short". So time for a suitably designed superhighway in NZ? - for those that want to drive - or speed the length of NZ. Many countries have had Autobahns or lengthy legit "speedy"straight roads for decades. But again those Autobahns are virtually flat, wide, and highly engineered, in part driven by Hitler's Nazi's way back in the 30's. Many vids depict speed on the Autobahn e.g. Motorbike and Audi at 300 km/hr (www.youtube.com), or Hayabusa at 347 km/hr, (www.youtube.com). Many foreigners from Euro countries, probably find our speed limits too low... |
