| 1444661 | 2018-01-09 20:43:00 | I have a Panasonic KX-TGM420AZ cordless phone with answering machine. It has been giving me problems: The voice quality tends to be pretty fuzzy - which doesn't help when I already use hearing aids. The answering machine is erratic. sometimes the voice recording is OK and sometimes it is totally broken up and stuttery. This is evident when I play back a message and also apparently when people try to record. I've played around with the various settings and nothing seems to fix it. I've also tried moving the base station to different locations in case something else is interfering with it but that doesn't make any difference either. Fortunately it is still under warranty, but before I return it are there any suggestions as to what might be happening? TIA |

Perhaps these other handsets are more forgiving of signals that fail to meet standards? Maybe you should take the wireless set to another place and try it there, or take it back and have the supplier test it. |

My nearest relly is in Sydney so that's not an option. :) The problem with doing a swap is that it is intermittent which makes it difficult to confirm. I tried ringing the phone in it's new location here and it was all fine - which demonstrates what I am saying. Maybe I'll just take it back to Hardly Normal and exchange it. |

| 1444668 | 2018-01-11 03:56:00 | I took the phone back to Harvey Norman and after a bit of equivocation they gave me a store credit for the purchase price which I immediately used to get a Uniden DECT 3236. That all seems to be working OK atm, but it is only day one. One nice (maybe) feature is that it has bluetooth and I can pair it with my cellphone and for instance download all the numbers in the cellphone phone book into the new handset. As that is in turn synced with Outlook on the desktop that means I now have all my 250 Outlook contacts on the landline handset. In theory I can also use the cellphone as an extension to the landline, but I haven't quite worked out how to do that yet. Thanks for the advice. |
