1444381 2018-01-03 02:51:00 I have a friend's Samsung tablet, 6 years old. Its normally put on charge every night and is always good to go the next day. However recently it suddenly won't receive the charge, with the battery charge indicator flashing briefly on every few minutes, and the device won't turn on at all. The USB charger isn't at fault. There doesn't seem to be any way to open the tablet for a look-see inside.

Could there be any hope for this thing or is it destined for the bin?

1444382 2018-01-03 03:53:00 They do come apart, with care.
There will be videos on Youtube showing how
near a corner you slip your thumbnail between the two halves
then with an old bank card inserted in the gap you carefully work around the thing popping the clips apart.
Then when its apart just disconnect the battery leads for a few minutes
and that should reset the system back to charging again.
I have done this with several myself, with success, but I offer no guarantee as to your one
being fixable, again be careful splitting the case.

1444383 2018-01-03 05:04:00 Mine was fixed by pbtech and they told me they use a suction device to grip the screen and a heat gun to loosen the glue....
My tablet is a lot newer and was fixed under warranty though.

If it's just the battery it should be possible to fix it, if not it's junk. They changed the whole mainboard to fix mine not charging.

You may well find a utube video showing how to dismantle the tablet.
With something that old it is worth trying out fixing the thing as even if you completely stuff it up you have not lost much anyway.
