| 1443879 | 2017-12-20 03:07:00 | Thanks for the helps with our freeview. Next question... I'm looking for a simple, freeware backup program that I can set to do the backups and incremental. I've tried Google, but no help, last few days. Thanks, Ian |

| 1443882 | 2017-12-20 03:50:00 | Win7,8,10 have a very good backup program built in (use the image option). The possible issue with sync programs is, if say a file gets corrupted , the sync will over write the good 'backed up' version with the bad. You preferably want something that keeps a few separate incremental backups. Whatever you try, do a test recovery, make a test doc file, delete it & then see if you can recover from backup. Also, if using a sync program, make sure you dont have email open or docs open when syncing . In general, email program should be closed before backup starts ...waiting for someone to "say sync isnt a backup" :) |

You could copy & paste the whole documents folder to the backup drive. Its not the best way to do it, but better than nothing till you've sorted this out |

Did the laptop/pc go into sleep/hybernate ? No, dont use that. You could copy & paste the whole documents folder to the backup drive. Its not the best way to do it, but better than nothing till you've sorted this out I've been trying to do that every week, also my downloads, photos, etc. I've checked & recheck the windows backup and tried to run from program, but each time comes up with an error. |

| 1443888 | 2017-12-20 20:55:00 | Try Win10 file History to backup to external drive . www.howtogeek.com www.techrepublic.com The "Image" option in Windows backup should work otherwise . |
