701969 2008-09-02 05:09:00 Wow! Who's going to wait for IE8. Google Chrome will be here tomorrow. Richard (739)
701970 2008-09-02 05:24:00 Well I'm afraid the Screen shots (blogoscoped.com) dont exactly grab ya!

Time will tell.:sleep

Mind you its only Beta- meaning still in testing stage, so when the bugs turn up in the real world usage people will start moaning. - But hey - Thats beta for ya.

701972 2008-09-02 06:41:00 I've got this google paranoia. While I don't mind using their search engine occasionally, remember they're an ad agency :annoyed: the_bogan (9949)

CustomizeGoogle is a Firefox extension that enhances Google search results by adding extra information (like links to Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN etc) and removing unwanted information (like ads and spam).

You can also anonymize your google cookie using this extension in Firefox:

701975 2008-09-02 09:10:00 I can recommend this as well:

lifehacker.com

Try some of the skins, I prefer "Gmail Redesigned".

701976 2008-09-02 20:57:00 Google Chrome looks very nifty.

It loads slow sites noticeably faster (so far, I'll wait and see what it does after school today when all the gamers get on).

Popups don't load as expanded windows but minimised so they can be opened only if you want to, it displays my hand-coded website beautifully, and looks very customisable.

It imported my passwords and settings from firefox, and favourites from IE without a hitch (I use firefox PlainOldFavorites extension) - you can specify which items to import.

I miss some of the firefox extensions such as UndoClosedTabs and Tab Clicking Options, but I'm sure something similar will come later.

And, most serious of all, no flashblock.

Looks excellent though for a first-release basic featured beta

701978 2008-09-02 21:21:00 I've just installed it. Goes real fast . No spell checker and not compatable with some of our inhouse apps.. Only imports bookmarks from IE and FF not Opera. Will try it for awhile.. paulw (1826)
