824325 2009-10-26 09:42:00 When installing something in Win7 x64? The install file for this USB tuner (the previous version), said it. So, I downloaded the latest version (which says its compatible with Win7 x64). And it said the same thing (but its fine, AverTV the program for the tuner loads, and I can still record). The brother printer I've got here said the same thing (when I installed the Vista x64 drivers). So, any idea WHY its saying the install cant find the drivers, and how to fix it?

Would it have something to do with UAC?

824326 2009-10-26 17:53:00 I don't know I did get unable to install plugins for FF 64bit so went back to the 32 bit version. I had tried the 32 bit on 7 RC and addons didn't work which is why I went to the 64 version but now on this RTM version of win 7 all addons I use and plugins are working. All of my hardware just works including my ancient pixma through a print server/switch gary67 (56)

I am using FF3.5 on my 64bit and got adblock, Sothink downloader and Fireftp all ok.

Have you tried turning it off? I found while Win7 said it had successfully installed 2 drivers - they didn't work and I had to get the real ones.

824329 2009-10-26 23:17:00 Not yet. Its working tho. If the program starts to play up, I'll uninstall it, then turn UAC off. Good thing about the the tuner program uninstall, was it removed the program, and the drivers as well.

Strange that the MS drivers for the tuner (which were in windowsupdate), were the same version as what the latest version of the program installs, from the Avermedia site. Only diff was, I updated the tuner drivers thru WU, (the other day), and the tuner didnt get detected. I had to roll back the drivers. With the drivers (included in the latest version of the program, the tuner is fine).

Yes addons work fine in the 64bit but plugins such as java don't however they all work in the 32bit version of FF

824332 2009-10-27 07:25:00 Ok, well I fixed this error. I uninstalled everything again, shut down, removed the tuner. Turned the system back on. Reinstalled the program / drivers, and no error hmm. Then plugged the tuner back in. Tuner is fine. Avermedia seemed to think otherwise (keep the tuner in while installing the drivers). Which obviously doesn't work, since you get the no driver found error). Why, I have no idea. So, it doesnt sound like an UAC prob in Win7. Because its still at the default settings Speedy Gonzales (78)
