| 824212 | 2009-10-26 01:27:00 | Been tinkering around using my 32" Sony LCD TV as a PC monitor to give a larger screen size than my 24" Viewsonic. Having a few issues though that I can't seem to overcome: 1: Desktop at 1920 x 1080 doesn't naturally fit on the LCD TV screen. I can resize desktop so that that the sides and top/bottom of the desktop fit perfectly on screen giving an 'artificial' resolution of 1828 x 1028. 2: Text and images (i.e in web browser and word/powerpint) are blurry. 3: Screen 'shimmers' a little 4: I have to keep my PC conencted via both the VGA & DVI [PC end]/HDMI [TV end] connector to be able to display off the HDMI input on the TV. If I unplug the VGA I lose the picture/image on the HDMI input (on the TV) and get an unsupported signal issue. I have fiddled around in display settings as well as using the Nvidia Control Panel App without a great deal of success. Any suggestions/ideas? | 824214 | 2009-10-26 02:35:00 | From this (www.ascent.co.nz) and this (www.sonystyle.com.hk) it certainly appears to be so and I can display the PC via the HDMI input at 1080i/1080p just not in total crispness. The VGA input related resolution is 1366 x 768. Or am I getting confused with the quoited specs on the 2nd website link? |

| 824216 | 2009-10-26 02:53:00 | The display resolution is only 1366x768 which is not full HD... Yup that's correct. It will accept up to 1080p input but it will be downscaled to 1366x768. So you would get the best picture if you set your computers res to that. |

TV's don't have to deal with the same stresses that computer monitors put on them. If they worked well then everyone would have them. A 30" computer monitor capable of 2560 x 1600 costs $2624 on Ascent.co.nz www.ascent.co.nz A Dell supersharp cost not much less at $2599. For that price you could get an older 42" LCD TV almost anywhere. |
