You don't get any calls or data, or an iphone for that matter, for $480. Plus there are lots of other strings too.

701466 2008-09-02 01:04:00 If the price is right,is that a catch?

Also there is nothing stopping them putting up the prices after say 6 months of being connected, and you are stuck with them for another 18 months. This is what Vodafone did, they hooked people in with low prices, and then put their prices up within the contract period. 24 months is a long time.

How does not mentioning about the iphone mean we have all forgotten?

Yeah compared to iphone the telstra deal is better but then the plan I am on is better again for me. It just intrigued me that some were drawn to the free phone. If you were going to buy that phone then great, you simply pay it off over 24months.

701468 2008-09-02 05:49:00 I talked to Telstra and explained that I'm not interested in their Nokia 6275i phone. I already have a Nokia 9300 smart phone. At first they said I'd have to take the new phone, but they rang back to say wait until the end of the week (or early next week) and a new announcement would be coming out with the option not to take their Nokia phone. Cant see how that would work if the 9300 is GSM and Telstra are using Telecom's CDMA.
