702660	2008-09-05 20:51:00	My apologies for that. A couple of questions that you may be able to answer please Plod. Is it the format that apple uses? Shows up as MP4 on some programs. Can you get a codec so WMP11 can use it? My new Sony player does not accept ATRAC and I have re-ripped some stuff in AAC and some in WMA. I find AAC is better than WMA and ATRAC was better than both. Mind you, it is all subjective. Depends on your age and hearing loss. My son swears by AAC. Ken	kenj (9738)

702662	2008-09-05 21:40:00	Had a bit of a look and foung it is bog standard MPEG-2 which can be dragged and dropped to the timeline of most editors. www.camcorderinfo.com Moviemaker 2 will read these files. Just drag from camcorder to My Videos, then open in MM2 timeline. Save as a MPEG-2 file after editing and then see what freeware stuff is available for DVD creation and burning. Assuming that is what you want to do. I would not like to have the added cost of a editing program on a camcorder. For sure it would be cut down and restricted in use and maybe need an extra burning program to do anything. I have used Pinnacle V.7 to V10, and continue to use it through 3 different camcorders over the years. I wouldn't be interested in learning a new program each time I bought a new camcorder. The software that comes with Sony stuff was real basic and not worth looking at under any circumstances. I am sure other video hobbyists will bear me out on this one. Ken Maybe it is supposed to ken but it doesn't. This was tried on more than one PC. That site you gave also says that Premiere and Final Cut can handle them when we have found they can't handle them properly.	Bantu (52)
