| 824267 | 2009-10-26 02:27:00 | Hey guys I have Windows vista and sometimes when I start it up it goes into like a diskcheck or chkdsk something like that. ALso, my desktop icons keep disspearing, like itunes and adobe reader and quicktime. Backup all your data NOW! it's done that about 3 times in the past week, not sure if thats a lot but i probably turn the computer off and on about 3-4 times a day? im going to do what speedy said, then the problem will go away? |

As Speedy said back up your data. Then you will not lose it if your Hard Disk does die. It will not make the problem go away but will leave you able to recover if you do need to replace the HD and reinstall the operating system |

| 824272 | 2009-10-26 03:59:00 | it's done that about 3 times in the past week, not sure if thats a lot but i probably turn the computer off and on about 3-4 times a day? im going to do what speedy said, then the problem will go away? i thought i should mention that the icons weren't like physically gone, they just are replaced by what looks like a white piece of paper? i'm having trouble describing it perfectly, but the icon for quicktime and itunes and all that is just a white piece of paper with the top right corner folded... btw i did what you said speedy and the icons are still the same! my biggest issue right now is getting office back, i have some work to do and i cant open and documents, even my microsoft works no longer works :( |
