824134 2009-10-25 18:58:00 So. Windows Explorer, with Show Hidden files etc and Show O/S files, still doesn't show you everything.

I installed PSP Photo X2 and knew there were those DRM files in WIn/System32. Browse to the folder and oh look, they don't show up.

Use a 3rd party utility to view - yep - there they are.

So what else is it hiding?

824136 2009-10-26 01:56:00 Protexis.

There's one registry entry and 2 files>
PSIKey.exe
PSIService.exe

824137 2009-10-26 07:52:00 try cmd.exe, do they show up there?

%windir%\System32\PSIService.exe
%windir%\System32\PSIKey.exe

Does ProtexisLicensing show up in the Service Control Panager?
Is this key in the registry?
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\ProtexisLicensing]

Windows 7 isn't hiding anything from you ...

824138 2009-10-26 11:13:00 I have PSIservice.exe on my XP machine from PSP Photo X1, but it shows up in task manager etc and seems pretty un-hidden to me...

No idea if it has anything else strange though. Don't think I've seen PSIKey.exe anywhere..

No but Explorer was.
I removed it, but the POINT was Explorer wouldn't show it. I knew where they were but what else might Explorer decide not to display?

Where can I install a programme that includes the licensing component so I can see Explorer not displaying this for myself?

Thanks

824141 2009-10-26 19:36:00 Shows up for me, but I'm still using the RC. inphinity (7274)
824142 2009-10-26 20:30:00 Start button, type regedit and then Enter.
Go to the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced
In the right pane, double-click the value SuperHidden, and type the number 1. (If SuperHidden is not present, it should be established by the usual method).
OK and restart.

Did you try that?
