823668 2009-10-24 15:29:00 I have downloaded Google Earth onto the desktop of PCLOS, and it sits there as a . bin-something or other .

Now what?

What do I use to open and run the thing?

PS: I am not really Renee - this is SurferJoe and I'm using another computer at the moment - mine is still not really up-and-running yet . I need to get a better antenna for the wireless to get as better signal, so I am across the yard at another's house here in Anza .

I will be on satellite after a while and I will get FULLY-SYMMETRICAL DSL once it's running . I am promised 3MB with no caps .

PCLOS recognized the satellite on this unit - and I may just get an antenna for myself later to get a non-networked and personal hookup . We'll see what the provider - who lives three sites away from here - says later today .

I return the 'puter to Renee and I have to goto town and pick up my new dining room set with a trailer and truck right now .

See youse guys later .

823669 2009-10-24 19:29:00 Ah, you could have just logged onto PF1 using your own account Joe. Less confusing all round. :p

Glad you are getting yourself all sorted out in your new home.

Anyhoo, back on topic.

To install Google Earth you just need to open up a terminal window and navigate to your desktop by entering in:

$cd ~/Desktop

To install Google Earth, enter in the following:

$sh GoogleEarthLinux.bin

Then just follow the instructions. Remember the terminal commands are case sensitive. :)

823670 2009-10-24 21:59:00 I installed this on Kubuntu once, I think I had to use chmod to make it executable as well... Agent_24 (57)
