704036 2008-09-10 02:32:00 Selleys.

I once got a dab of it stuck on my desk, and then without realising leant my arm down on top it to use the mouse. 2 mins later, I had to rip my sweatshirt to pull my arm off the desk! It's good stuff.

704037 2008-09-10 02:39:00 They're all cyanoacrylate. roddy_boy (4115)
704038 2008-09-10 02:42:00 Hmmm . . . . what do you want to stick?

Not all cyanoacrylates are created equal!! :)

704039 2008-09-10 03:06:00 And Selleys (unless mixed on a Tuesday) is less equal than most. R2x1 (4628)
704040 2008-09-10 03:12:00 General purpose really although am I right in saying some are better on plastics .

I guess these days it is usually plastics that break so might as well go for one that works best on plastic but other things as well .

I think I read somewhere that some of them have small gap filling properties .

All very confusing .

704041 2008-09-10 03:37:00 Plastics are often very difficult to bond; many of them have a low surface energy, a la the dashboard of your car, or PTFE (Teflon).

I'd recommend you use the Permabond range of adhesives from Homershams (cognoscenti never call them glues!! :p ) - check out their cyanoacrylates here (www.homershams.co.nz)

Sounds like you need the high-viscosity (gel) variety.

PTFE = Polytetrafluroethane
