703996 2008-09-10 01:31:00 I have a sad feeling about the country that I was born in and which I love very much.I feel that at the moment with all the problems the world is facing, NZ does not need the rubbish lying, corrupt, self serving behaviour that certain politicians are inflicting on the country. We all know which ones. I think an election should be held as soon as possible and the cleanup start as early as it can. New Zealand is facing some huge challenges in the coming years. I see now dairy prices are starting to fall 10-15% in a week! If the rural economy falls, NZ will be in for a tough time. Anyway, Have a few smiles and laughs. royaloaks (8205)
703997 2008-09-10 01:49:00 I agree. I hope no-one will vote for National, Act, or NZ First at the coming election. That should get rid of most of the ones you are talking about. John H (8)
703998 2008-09-10 02:03:00 Trouble is they all seem to be as bad as each other. I have no idea who to vote for! tingle (6539)
703999 2008-09-10 02:07:00 If you truly have no idea, you should be out there campaigning like all the others ;) R2x1 (4628)
704000 2008-09-10 02:17:00 OK, you're on. But you have to promise to vote for me and I in turn will promise you everything....

Only to to take it all back once I am elected.

What me cynical???

I don't know, its nothing new. Just this lot has been rather well reported.

At least, unlike some countries, they stick to slagging each other rather than shooting people who express an interest in voting for the opposition. Or shooting each other.

You are probably right, but you forgot the Labour party as well. Maybe there is no party worth voting for. Sad.

Have you seen how expensive cheese is at the moment?

They probably fell because nobody could afford it anymore.

I spoke to a man who had large amounts of money in Fonterra. He said that although petrol is an incredibly minor part of their costs, that they still base their prices on the price of fuel. He had the biggest smile on his face at the time, and I could just see the dollar signs in his eyes.

NZ is doing fine. Not as well as it has done of late, but in the global scheme of things we're doing pretty freaking well. I wouldn't turn down a pay rise though.

Also, NZ regularly comes near the top of the list for least corrupt countries. So really I have no idea what you're talking about.

Although if you have some facts to back yourself up, I'm all ears.

Of course. Given the nature of humans in business, I'm forced to think they are using the rising cost of petrol as an excuse to (un)justifiably raising their product costs.

And the whole media shenanigans overhyping and generally supporting the manufacturers' excuse about rising petrol cost isn't exactly helping the buyers either.
