2009-10-27 00:30:00 | i've got a virus that's preventing me entering windows normally my question is that if i use both those functions mentioned @ recovery console, will it damage my hard drive and lose all my data? Thanks,

2009-10-27 01:22:00 | No, it won't. Unless its bootloader/mbr problem that probably won't change a thing.. Does safe mode work? Blam

2009-10-27 01:46:00 | All they're likely to fix is a broken bootloader, such as if you're getting an NTLDR missing error, or you're wanting to overwrite a Linux bootloader like GRUB. It won't magically allow you to re-enter windows unfortunately ;)

2009-10-27 07:43:00 | yes, safe mode does work Ok then. Run the Nod32 Online Scan (www.eset.com) then download MBAM (www.malwarebytes.org) and perform a full scan. Then Download HijackThis and post a log here for analysis. Blam

2009-10-28 01:43:00 | for some reason, only a handful of programs were able to connect to the net. the NOD32 online scan was not one of them. But, the malwarebytes did work and it found nothing. Here's the LOG file below

2009-10-28 01:56:00 | Get rid of ZA or comodo, you should only have 1 firewall Uninstall all versions of java then update it. Its out of date Its probably one of these firewalls blocking everything / their access to the net Either tick this O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZoneAlarm Client] "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe" Or this O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [COMODO Internet Security] "C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cfp.exe" -hin safe mode / networking. Then tick fix checked. Then boot into normal windows. If this works, uninstall one of them
