Yup - couldn't agree more Sol. Hey, I don't really like the guy to be honest - he's always struck me as Small-Man Syndrome personified. But he deserves a fair trial, and as always, the burden of proof lies with the prosecution. The only 'evidence' we've had so far, is some half-assed journalism. I know he's admitted 'lashing out, and that's wrong and cowardly as others have said, but I don't believe we've heard even a fraction of what really happened. Let the judicial process run it's course, and then (hopefully) we'll see what happens. |

In this country being accused by the police is often enough to "prove" ones guilt, despite the fact that the police very often get it hopelessly wrong . In cases such as this it is the word of the victim vs the word of the accused . I'm not saying that i know a better way, but i am saying that my faith in the system has become minamalised by first hand watching it fail to have anything to do with justice . . Let the judicial process run it's course, and then (hopefully) we'll see what happens . Tossing a coin would be about as accurate, less cost to the country, and less stress to all involved, however would make far less money for lawyers, who will be the only true winners from this situation . |

In all cases the reports were so inaccurate that they were barely recognisable. I read them expecting accuracy and a different viewpoint. What i found was a couple of "facts" buried by fiction. "News papers" exist to sell the daily drama to people who will pay $2 a day for it. THEY DO NOT EXIST TO SPREAD TRUTH. Truth does not after all sell newspapers, a fact that says something very very sad about us as consumers of such dribble. TV is as bad. I would have thought the north island got washed away if i believed a what was said in the papers, net-media and TV mass media just a couple of months back. Isn't it ironic that a media man is suffering at the hands of his own craft. As for the accusation of "drama king", well, what do you expect of someone who chooses life as a public personality? |
