2008-09-08 04:11:00 | I'd like to know if she can be done for breaking a legal agreement? Presumeably only if Veitch files a claim of breach of contract. But I suspect he knows he already looks like enough of a tosser to be doing that...

2008-09-08 06:16:00 | So it's not like anyone can go to the cops and ask for it to be investigated, like what happened with the politicians? | the_bogan (9949) | |
2008-09-08 06:22:00 | Bravo Metla, yet another poster who obviously knows the entire case, and before the court has heard it too.... If there is one thing worse than trial by media before all evidence is heard, its the berating from idiots who believe everything the media says is Kosher?!!:groan: Living in dreamland if you think people can't make a judgement call based on the information they know, No one knows all the facts about anything. That aside, I'm not in the slightest bit motivated by the claims in the media as much as I am by the reaction from the person involved. I can't think of a single mitigating factor in this situation that would in anyway make it OK for him to break her back.

2008-09-08 06:33:00 | But did he break her back? I saw reports that she was walking around for a couple of days afterwards. And complaining that her back was sore for a few days beforehand.

2008-09-08 07:27:00 | So it's not like anyone can go to the cops and ask for it to be investigated, like what happened with the politicians? A breach of contract is a civil wrong - the police jurisdiction is restricted to criminal wrongs. The politician thing is a criminal matter as the Electoral Act (from memory) sets out offences.

And complaining that her back was sore for a few days beforehand. He would have saved himself a great deal of grief if he could have stated that part was untrue, surely admitting that he didn't hurt her as bad as reported would have been an easier action to take (if true) then trying to kill himself? Why would he keep quiet if the truth would go some way to redeeming him? |

2008-09-08 22:41:00 | But did he break her back? Geez . WHy do people rush to defend him? He kicked her . Down the stairs . Isn't that enough? Then he collapses into a crying little puddle when it becomes public knowledge . Pathetic .
