2009-10-27 22:34:00 | If it is a KSOD, try this (www.logicitc.com) Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable the keyboard shortcut 3. i clicked on that , an explorer window opens, in that window clear the link and type msconfig and run it. 4. in the selective startup ive unchecked the two options, apply restart. 5. windows started with explorer. 6. running msconfig again, enabling all under startup items and all under services, but IVE UNCHECKED THE FOLLOWING : A. Windows Event Log. B. Windows Event Collector. you dont have to go and enable all the services one by one like THIS IS A REAL FIX! READ HERE said. if some one tried from step 3 just to disable A & B items, if it worked Then Go to C:\Windows\System32\Winevt\ and rename your Logs folder to Logs_Bad, and make a new Logs folder Run Services and change your Windows Event Log service to automatic, and set the Windows Event Collector service to Manual.

2009-10-28 03:34:00 | Tried above no joy sorry. not keen on going down the link you have given me speedy i did have a look, to tricky for me and some things are different ie i can get into safe mode and i have no mouse curser with the blank screen. Thanks all the same, think i might give it to someone else as it looks like it not going to be a easy fix. Question would reinstalling vista solve it? Cheers Wayne

2009-10-28 07:04:00 | Reinstalling Vista would definetly fix it... KSOD's have to be the most devious problems to troubleshoot. Have had 3 come my way so far and it takes absolutely forever to find the cause... Good luck! Blam

2009-10-30 05:56:00 | Have upgraded to 2gb of ram, reloaded vista from HP System Recovery and before it proceeded it asked to backup files emails, documents, etc which i did 5hours latter and 2.8gb to a 4 gig flash drive. I now have vista flying along and loading in 80 seconds so the question is how do i get the backed up files back where they belong, double click on the file vista wont look at it, neither will File Transfer wiz Help. Thanks once again. Wayne

2009-10-31 08:40:00 | WHAT files?? If youre talking about programs, you'll have to reinstall them. If theyre emails, import them into Mail. Or whatever email program | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
