With the motion flow thing, some people don't like it, I actually quite like it, so it comes down to preference. If you dont like the feature or end up turning it off, you may as well not pay extra for that feature. It gives all programs that video 'making of' look. |

| 702674 | 2009-01-10 08:14:00 | I have just purchased the Sony Bravia 40 inch V series lcd with built in Freeview. What a fantastic picture when using Freeview. The factory default settings aren't great, but after making a few adjustments i had a clear, crisp picture on all the channels i selected. Deep blacks, bright whites and good contrast. This tv has a recommended retail of$2799. Dick Smiths have it for $1999 at the moment. That's what i paid. My son bought one first for his room, and after i had seen the great picture, i just had to get one too. The beauty of the built in Freeview is that only one remote is required. The start up time is only a matter of seconds, unlike some of the stand-alone Freeview terrestrial receivers on the market. This is an excellent model of TV. Sony all the way for me... |

| 702678 | 2009-01-11 07:56:00 | Some new models at now releasing 120Hz LCDs which would offer better processing. UK (and probably other countries) have 200Hz which NZ will get in the not to distant future. www.sony.co.uk What ever we buy here now is more or less old technology compared to other countries. |

| 702681 | 2009-01-11 23:24:00 | Samsung and Sony panels come from the same factory.... but they may not be using the same panels. Even the el-budget-o panels may possibly come from the same factory.... Also no guarantee that a model reviewed in USA has the same panel as the model sold here, especially 6-12 months after that reveiw. eg: The Samsung 22" PC display I have initially got rave reviews, then they starting putting cheaper panels in em (now the reveiws arnt all good) I have a samsung 40A650. Love it, no HD tuner thou.. The Sony have much better built in speakers, Samsung speakers are small & tinny sounding. I think if you get a good mid range Sony/Samsung you will be happy with it, if you dont like it you will need to spend $$5000+ to make you happy. |
