I've read somewhere that the opponents to this project says it will create a black hole, which will consume the earth, solar system, whatever. So, remember to kiss the gf or wife goodbye tomorrow morning, it may be your last.

If you are at all worried, then do what any sane person would do - visit Milliways, The Restaurant at The End of the Universe and watch it all from there.

I predict, while in theory exciting things could be found (Higgs), it will be a non-event. Maybe of interest to a few physics guys at best.

Pity, I rather like the idea put forward by Gregory Benford in his novel Cosm, which was about fanciful happenings from just this experiment.
