825348 2009-10-29 09:04:00 I was just browsing the web and listening to music, when the music stopped, I heard one of my HDDs spin up and click, then the music started again. Seems a little suspicious to me. The HDD my music is on is a 320GB Barracuda. sammo450 (13626)

825350 2009-10-29 09:10:00 Hmm could be. I've only had it almost two years. sammo450 (13626)

You heard the saying 'when you gotta go, you gotta go'?

Well, the same applies to HDDs apparently. Can't save them. :D

825353 2009-10-29 20:43:00 Yea. I would back it up now...

As Qaz said-HD's die whenever. Some die within a month. Some after 10 years:p

825354 2009-10-29 22:51:00 Great. I'll have to invest in a new drive then. What's the recommended brand at the moment? sammo450 (13626)
825355 2009-10-29 23:17:00 WD/Seagate Blam (54)
825356 2009-10-29 23:47:00 I'll probably go with WD, as I have a Caviar Black at the moment, which seems to be running well. sammo450 (13626)
825357 2009-10-30 00:35:00 If it's only months old can't you get a warranty replacement? qazwsxokmijn (102)
