2008-09-17 00:42:00 | no worries, I'll assemble the superhero team and see if we can't fix this problem with the time/space continuum. | Jan Birkeland (4741) | |
2008-09-17 01:19:00 | Jan, that latest change didn't exactly free up a lot of room at the top - all it did was break the CSS (see here (pressf1.co.nz) for an updated version) :groan:. | Erayd (23) | |

2008-09-17 05:06:00 | Pathetic. It's basic maths. 7 ads spots are 7 ad spots, not matter how you cut it. Still drops the content down the page to far, still puts excessive load on the page. Only now you get to stare at some white space between the ads (if you're not blocking, or using Bletch's CSS, of course). And a rectangular box just won't fit here (except at the top, where of course it still is) without some major changes to the basic design of the pages, rather than a few tweaks. All of which, is of course, bleedin obvious. But what do I know ......

2008-09-17 05:24:00 | Well, thanks to AdblockPlus and a wee Stylish script, I say let them do their worst with the ads! (snip) Have you noticed that some of the content that was formerly blocked by that script has snuck back in johcar? Cheeky devils.

2008-09-17 06:26:00 | It could work if you get rid of the fairfax banner, move some of the advertising to the PC world banner where the NOD32 ad currently is (you could fit 2 ads there where you currently have one) then move the rest of the ads to the right hand side and/or the bottom of the page. Is PC world always going to have 2 ads - the banner & the square? It seems a bit redundant if they are going to be the same.
