704811 2008-11-02 01:31:00 Bump - as I'd like to know the answer, too.

Seems to work well for me -- I can

Record a movie or programme to the MySky HDD, then play it back at a later date and record it on my Sony HDD Recorder
View a movie on MySky and record it directly on the Sony
Use a Playlist on the MySky to play a series of programmes back for recording

I haven't yet tried this with any Pay-Per-View programmes, but it all seems to work fine for the movies I've recorded off Movies 1/2/Greats, as well as Box (old Sky1).

Plus - what can you do with the USB & SATA sockets on front panel?

On the MySky? Ummm ... nothing, as yet. Or the Ethernet socket at the back. They are labelled as "For future development" ...

704812 2008-11-02 01:37:00 Dave with MySky the Pay-per-view movies if recorded only stay in your planner for a set amount of days then auto-delete, if you record a pay-per-view and want to keep it record it to the Sony HDD.

I did have one pay-per-view that the Sony HDD could not record but others have been fine. I can also record to my PC via a Hauppauge PVR-350 so anything off MySky can record that way as well or instead of my Sony HDD Recorder.

I am still on MySky and not yet the HDi model.

Thanks for that -- I'll give it a go when there's something on the PPV that I really want to see :)

I've got the HDi model, but I don't have HDi enabled (I still "only" have a Panasonic 29" CRT which still gives a fantastic picture, so am not allowed to upgrade just yet ... :crying)
