706037 2008-09-21 07:28:00 An elephant could never take off! Even if it was on a conveyor belt and the conveyor belt was going the same way, it just doesn't have the wingspan. pine-o-cleen (2955)

It doesn't need wingspan. Haven't you seen Dumbo?

706039 2008-09-21 09:37:00 Never mind regretting starting the thread, any moment now there is going to be an elephant arriving at the end of the conveyor at an enormous speed, and you started it. R2x1 (4628)

Mythbusterters are a sorry case. If you believe them then you're a worry.

706042 2008-09-23 21:24:00 What makes you think that? I think a lot of the stuff they do is quite credible. They know what they are doing, having worked for ILM. sammo450 (13626)

Yeah I'm a bit puzzled Greg. Why do you have this view of Mythbusters. They do very well, have a great sense of humour and are not afraid of admitting mistakes.
The aircraft myth surely proves their accuracy.
Like them I really couldn't see the point of the practical test. It was obvious the aircraft would not be affected in any way by the conveyor.
Had they proved the aircraft would be affected then I would have been very dubious of some of their other results.
