| 705439 | 2008-09-16 03:31:00 | I too recall when I first heard Dark Side of the Moon . A young guy I knew had just come out of Porirua Hospital, and was desperate to play it for me . He was just thrilled to hear a song that included "the loonies on the grass" - it made him feel he was not alone . :) Hey, that was 34 years ago . . . Sigh . Maybe thats why I can relate to it so well :lol: There is a very good dvd about the making of Dark Side of the Moon . Great story about the recording of The Great Gig in the Sky (which happens to be mainly composed by Richard) . I had heard "stories" that some of the songs related to the guitarist going mad which had an element of truth to it as it turned out (I didn't know about Syd Barrett then) . No wikipedia back then :) Actually I heard it first on a high quality system with headphones and wow, especially the sound effects . Yes, the good ole bad days . |

Wish You Were Here is a great song though. :p I'm very sorry but we don't really care what you think.:) The first time I really heard PF was "Wish you were here" just on take off on a flight from New York to London and it so suited taking off that it blew my mind. |
