705256 2008-09-15 05:25:00 Hahahahaha! What is going to happen with all of those phones being given away by TelstraClear? Looks like they will get a few months work and then they will be obsolete. John H (8)
705257 2008-09-15 07:43:00 6165i imo. roddy_boy (4115)

705259 2008-09-16 20:46:00 Its a pity Vodaphone and Telecom dont work on the stink coverage in semi rural areas.
I am not talking way in the boondocks like in South Island but areas which are moderately built up.
Waitaikere village its stink coverage until you get quite a way up the hill.
I cant even get a bar with my external aerial on my van hands free

705261 2008-09-19 05:15:00 Hmm, no 6165s on Trade Me. I actually hate the keypads on those phones, mate has one, it's horrible to text with.

I'm looking at the 6265 slider now actually...decided on getting a nice phone.

705262 2008-09-19 05:24:00 Originally you wanted an el cheapo just to see you out until Telecom changed to GSM - they are selling some models that are World Phones, and they will work now on CDMA, roam overseas on GSM, and I assume they will be compatible with the new Telecom GSM network when it comes in.

Is that an alternative to buying something now and another one later?

I haven't got a bar in my van, even with both hands.

I believe the 6265 has that capability. ??

705265 2008-09-19 05:55:00 OK - it isn't listed as a world phone on the Telecom website, so I was just making an assumption. John H (8)
