| 705419 | 2008-09-16 01:39:00 | Had a lady in just now. She took her Win98 PC into another PC place round here to get another piece of RAM added. This was in February. He had the PC until May. After lots of fighting about the time he had it, he gave her another Win98 PC. Not her own. He said that was so she could have more RAM. Naturally she lost her all programs and everything on it. And it sounds to be like it hasn't been set up properly with drivers etc either as she says its saying 16 colours, 640x480 and sound isn't working.. |

| 705424 | 2008-09-16 10:46:00 | Similar experience- with a customer I just finished repairing a laptop for - it wouldn't boot - the "company" that had it advertise as Toshiba repair agents - she told me they had it for a month and did nothing with it because they didn't have a windows XP CD to run from it so they could repair the system - They were waiting to get a XP CD from another" mate" so they could fix it. After she gave it to me I had to remove the HD scan on a workshop PC then managed to boot good enough to fix correctly. I collected it on the Friday Morning - She was over the moon when I rang back on the Monday afternoon to say it was ready and when would she be home so I could return it. How some people call themselves "repair places" is beyond me :groan: Pctek - that poor lady - its disgusting how she was treated by "cowboys" - piece of RAM - even SD - 5 minute job at most. |
