Could I mention that, I'd like it to be free But, ifreally good ones have to be paid for.I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet ! Reason. My XP Home, finally threw a wobbly. Never done a backup. Don't even know how to. It'll be a fast learning curve. Eh !! Thank you & Regards to all. :badpc: |

In terms of registry backup I recommend ERUNT www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de If you worried about the System OS itself corrupting, I suggest you backup the whole system partition rather than just the registry. Macrium Reflect is easily the simplest to use, but doesn't support incremental backups like most free imaging programs. Be sure to create a rescue disc before you start. DriveImageXML is also quite good, but has less intuitive interface and uses a bit more geek lingo in the app. If you're going for a paid app, Acronis True Image is very good, simple to use and is basically set and forget. Support incremental backups too(which basically means after your first full backups, the backups after that are much quicker, as they only backup changed files since the last incremental backup) Cheers Blam |

| 825711 | 2009-10-31 03:01:00 | Yep I have Acronis backup both our computers to a third computer/ server, I image the c drive once a week and run daily incrementals all done automatically then I also backup my docs, music, videos, and emails to the server and a external hdd also done automatically. I don't run them at weekends as often I am away and if I am home then I just go in and run them manually | gary67 (56) | ||
